Spirit of Adoption

Deliverance from the Spirit of Rejection

Play

“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not glorified,” (Jn. 7: 37,38).

The spirit of adoption, a son ship with God: to attest that son ship; how great the force of faith is. The Greek word signifies a fixing or wavering of mind, so that we cannot tell which way to take. We know by the Spirit of God that we are sons of God.

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father,” (Rom. 8:15).

“And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption to writ, the redemption of our body,” (Rom. 8:23).

  • All this was through faith.
  • Consequently, from the beginning God had purposed that salvation should be through faith.

God never expected that any soul of man should be justified by the works of the law. This gave that law only that the exceeding sinfulness of sin might appear. That man might be prepared to welcome the gospel, which proclaimed Salvation to a lost world through the atoning death of Christ.

Jesus Gives a Divine Call

Play

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts; and yet show I unto you a more excellent way,” (I Cor.12:28-31).

The apostle Paul says in (Eph. 4:11), that “Jesus gave.” This passage also says, “God set.” It doesn’t say that Peter Wagner gives the Body of Christ Apostles or prophets… Jesus gave and God sets them into the Body of Christ. Notice this Corinthians’ passage calls the Body of Christ “the Church.”

The Church is the Body of Christ. The Gift of Miracles is a supernatural gift that God gives for the Body of Christ is the Church. The Holy Ghost sets ministry gifts in the Church – not man. There is a vast difference between God’s setting some in the Church and a man setting some in the Church. A study of Church history reveals how down through the centuries various groups have endeavored to get back to what they call New Testament practices.

They’ve set up Institutions which often were something man manufactured – something in the flesh, something carnal. These men “called” and “set” people who had no divine calling into certain offices.

  • This is unscriptural.
  • God does the setting.
  • God does the calling.
  • You simply do not enter the ministry, any phase of it, just because “you” feel it is a holy calling and “you” want to do it.
  • You never enter the ministry because “someone else” tells you that you are suited for it.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the boy of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we hence forth be no more children, tossed to AND FRO, AND CARRIED ABOUT WITH EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE, BY THE SLEIGHT OF MEN, AND CUNNING CRAFTINESS, WHEREBY THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE,” (Eph. 4:11-14).

The Mind of Christ in You

Play

Christian Life gives us the advantage of having the ability of having the mind of Christ. This means to have his mind you will be able to operate in His will being able to please God. Having His mind, will change our lives and character to reflect His glory!

If every Pastor would change their minds to throw away all the perverse bibles and return to the use of the King James Versions of the Word; the Church could quickly return to the basics of Christianity with Jesus as the center of the Church. You simply cannot have the mind of Christ if you have been blinded by these paraphrased, perverse bibles, throw them away. I believe the Mind of Christ is one of the most essential and misunderstood elements of the Christian life. The very basis of pleasing God is serving Jesus and living in the power of His Word.

The Apostle Paul challenged the Philippian’s Church to search for comfort in the Spirit and to fulfill His joy by being of one mind with God.

  • Philippians 2:2, –Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
  • [Fulfill ye my joy] Ye ought to complete my joy, who have suffered so much to bring you into the possession of these blessings, by being like-minded with myself, having the same love to God, his cause, and me, as I have to him, his cause, and you.
  • [Being of one accord] Being perfectly agreed in laboring to promote the honor of your Master; and of one mind, being constantly intent upon this great subject; keeping your eye fixed upon it in all you say,
  • Everyone have “is intent on one purpose.”
  • “What was the purpose that Paul was referring to?
  • “Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory (self conceit); but in lowliness of mind let each (one) esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” (vs.4)

Believers should have a concern for others of the Christian Church; turning from being busybodies o to mind other people’s business, but rather to encourage a sincere desire for the well-being of all God’s people. We must humble ourselves, not allowing strife or selfish conceit to have place among us.

Relationship of Idolatry and Pagan Worship

Play

There is a relationship of idolatry is worship of other gods and goddesses and pagan heads of state. Devils are always attached to different territories, leaders and have an emotional impact upon the people. An example of having to accept the local gods in order to prosper is recorded for us in (2 Kin. 17).

After the Assyrians had carried off the Israelite populations, they filled the vacuum they had created by transplanting large groups of people from other conquered areas.

These new settlers did not worship the Lord and so the lions caused much chaos among them that the governor sent a complaint to the Assyrian emperor that the immigrant transplants did not ‘know not the manner of the god of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the god of the land,’ – 2 Kings 17:26.

The emperor discerned the people not worshiping the god who controlled the regions; to change them, he sent the Jewish priest back to Samaria from Assyria ‘to teach the people the law of the god of that land’ –2Kings:17:25.

The priest sent to the colonists was not a true priest or God, but one of those who had been attached to the calf-worship, probably at Bethel. Hence, he would be willing to tolerate the mixed religion, which a true priest of the Lord would have unsparingly condemned. — 2 Kings 17:28

The Old Testament reveals high places on which the people offered sacrifices to the god residing there (I Sam. 9:12-13; 10:5; 1Kin. 3:2; Hos. 2:13, etc.). High places were places people sacrificed to the god of the area. High places were associated with Baal (‘high places of Baal’ in Numbers 22:41), or other alien deities (Lev. 26:30)
