(Eph. 1:17-23), “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.”

Jesus has been raised and seated at the right hand of Father God. He is ruling in power and distributing His power to the ones who believe.

(Rom. 8:16). “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves,” (2 Cor. 13:5). “Every Christian emerges either trusting in people, or trusting fully in God, that is, either cursed or blessed.”

You are answerable to God to make certain Jesus Christ resides in your heart and creating His life through you and have the witness of the Holy Spirit within.

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited,” (Jer. 17:5-60).

God challenges us: “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves,” (2 Cor. 13:5). “Every Christian emerges either trusting in people, or trusting fully in God, that is, either cursed or blessed.” Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD . . . (Jer. 17:5-6).

According to Jeremiah, the individual does not wait for God to move and takes matters into his own hands, making his own plans, trusting people believed have power and is forever looking for that special “who” to solve problems; a spiritual dryness reveals spiritual condition, “. . . he shall be like the heath (shrub) in the desert . . . ” (Jer. 5:6). This individual looks barely alive; having no fruit, no source of life is always on the brink of dying!

The Christian that trusts God in hard places is planted and has roots, security, a reservoir of Living Water and is always fruitful and green with fresh life, vs 8. “Jesus, I give up looking to any person to bring me out of my trial. I turn to You alone! You’re my only keeper, my only hope. I look to You to bring me out of this!”
