Jesus’ Blueprint for Christians

Play

“But what can mortal man do to secure his own salvation” Mortal man can do just what God bids him do. He can repent and believe. He can arise and follow Christ just as Matthew did.” Washington Gladden

God has a plan for your personal life and wants to save your soul giving you the gift of eternal salvation. Jesus is the answer! The Christian faith is unique, not because it recognizes man’s problems and needs. It recognizes that man cannot do anything by himself to solve the problem or meet the need. God did it!

Jesus Christ is the center of history. His compassion for spiritually fallen human is beyond human understanding. Luke 23:33-34. “And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, they crucified him . . .”The Cross of Jesus is the most important supernatural event since God created the World is for God.

“Now once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself,” (Heb. 9:26).

The Cross is also center of our faith. Unless we have seen the truth and experienced the power of the Cross, we have not yet come to know the saving grace of Jesus in our lives. The meaning of the Cross is to experience the liberating effect of God’s power in our own life. Jesus Christ is God and died for us!

“For the preaching of the cross is them that perish foolishness: but unto us which are saved it is the power of God,” (1Cor. 1:18).

Behavior and Roots to Curses

Play

From these roots there derive many different kinds of behavior. A list of twelve causes of curses that proceed from God is given in (Deut. 27:15-26). God warns Israel: “If you do these things, you’ll come under a curse.”

These can be summed up these main causes:

  • Idolatry, false gods and the occult.
  • Remember that the occult is the as worshiping false gods.
  • It means going to false gods or the servants of false gods for help which we should seek only from the true God.

Look particularly the consequences of idolatry or of the occult as stated by God in (Ex. 20:3-6).

  • “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” (Ex. 20:3).
  • “You shall have no other gods before Me” (or beside Me).
  • “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth,” (Ex. 20:4).
  • “And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things,” (Rom.1:23).

Dishonoring parents.

  • “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, [worship them] nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth Generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments,” (Ex. 20:5,6).
  • “The first commandment with blessing is: “Honor thy father and mother that it may be well with thee.”

Paul points out that it is the first commandment that carries with it a promise of blessing.

  • If you fail to honor your parents, you incur a curse upon yourself.
  • If that is your condition, you need to repent, change, adjust your attitude and if possible your relationship with your parents.

How to Remove Curses

Freedom in Christ is a relationship with Him.

  • “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” (Eph. 2:6).
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly,” (Jn. 10:10).
  • “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil,” (1Jn. 3:8).
  • “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” (Jn. 8:32).
  • “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed,” (Jn. 8:36).
Center your attention on Jesus, (Rev. 12:11).
  • “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death,” (Rev. 12:11).

Allow the Holy Spirit to have His way with you.

  • “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come,” (Jn. 16:13).

Bathe yourself in the Scripture.

  • “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth,” (Jn. 17:17).

The Bible is the written Word of God.

  • “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever,” (1Pet. 1:23).

Fellowship with Bible-believing Christians, (Gal. 6:2).

  • “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with un-righteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” (2Cor. 6:14).

Jesus Gives a Divine Call

Play

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts; and yet show I unto you a more excellent way,” (I Cor.12:28-31).

The apostle Paul says in (Eph. 4:11), that “Jesus gave.” This passage also says, “God set.” It doesn’t say that Peter Wagner gives the Body of Christ Apostles or prophets… Jesus gave and God sets them into the Body of Christ. Notice this Corinthians’ passage calls the Body of Christ “the Church.”

The Church is the Body of Christ. The Gift of Miracles is a supernatural gift that God gives for the Body of Christ is the Church. The Holy Ghost sets ministry gifts in the Church – not man. There is a vast difference between God’s setting some in the Church and a man setting some in the Church. A study of Church history reveals how down through the centuries various groups have endeavored to get back to what they call New Testament practices.

They’ve set up Institutions which often were something man manufactured – something in the flesh, something carnal. These men “called” and “set” people who had no divine calling into certain offices.

  • This is unscriptural.
  • God does the setting.
  • God does the calling.
  • You simply do not enter the ministry, any phase of it, just because “you” feel it is a holy calling and “you” want to do it.
  • You never enter the ministry because “someone else” tells you that you are suited for it.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the boy of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we hence forth be no more children, tossed to AND FRO, AND CARRIED ABOUT WITH EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE, BY THE SLEIGHT OF MEN, AND CUNNING CRAFTINESS, WHEREBY THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE,” (Eph. 4:11-14).
