Mental Weapons Spiritualist and the Religious War

Winning the Battle

Play

New Age Prophetess, Theosophist, Alice Bailey, said in her books that the next Great War would be in the field of world religions. She stated that the goals of the so-called new “Christ” included restructuring Christianity and abolishing Orthodox Judaism. The precise nature of this planned conflict may be gleaned from Alice Bailey’s writings:

“Years ago I said that the war which may follow this one would be waged in the field of the world religions.” Bailey said, “This war would not be one of external carnage and blood but it would be fought largely with mental weapons and in the world of thought; it will involve also the emotional realm, according to idealistic fanaticism. This inherent fanaticism (found in every reactionary group) will fight against the appearance of the coming world religion and the spread of esotericism (occult). For this struggle, certain of the well-organized churches through their conservative elements (their most powerful elements), are already girding themselves . . . Fanaticism, entrenched theological positions, and materialistic selfishness will be found actively organized in the churches in all continents and of all denominations. They can be expected to fight for the established ecclesiastical order, their material profit and their temporal rule, and already are making the needed preparation.”

Bailey goes onto say, “The coming struggles will emerge within the churches themselves; it will also be precipitated by:

  • The enlightened elements that exist in fair numbers already.
  • And are rapidly growing in strength through the impact of human necessity.
  • The filth will spread to thinking men and women everywhere who in a protesting revolt have denied orthodox Christianity and
    theology.

Notice the battle plans. The field of battle is in the mental and emotional realm. In the same book, Alice Bailey states three planned activities of the “New Age Christ,” one of which concludes:

  • “The reorganization of the world religions if in any way possible so that their out-of-date theologies
  • their narrow-minded emphasis and the ridiculous belief that they know what is in the Mind of God may be offset in order that the churches may eventually be the recipients of spiritual inspiration.”
  • Bailey is talking about a total restructuring of the Christian faith by changing it from God-centered too self-centered! Paul emphasizes this danger to the Church in his farewell talk to the elders of the Ephesians Church (Acts 20: 17-35). The Church today desperately needs to recognize this danger as the crisis we face.

“For I know this,” Paul declares, “that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you not sparing the flock. Also, of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them” (vs. 29, 30).

The Great deception is springing from the tares growing along a side the wheat in the Church. When wheat grows, the tares are indistinguishable until before the bloom. One has to be knowledgeable to discern the difference. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth if we are yielded to Him and His Word!

AUTHORITY OF CHRISTIANS

Christians receive their authority from Jesus Christ and all authority is vested in Him. Every believer can take to heart. “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation . . . And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons . . .” (Mk. 16:15-17). Knowing one’s spiritual authority and how to use their binding power, enables one to enter into spiritual warfare with faith to overcome.

Believers in Jesus Christ have every advantage to defeat demons. The Word says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you,” (Lk. 10:19). In addition, Jesus gives Christians power to use His name in (Matt. 28:28). “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto me, Therefore go . . .” He gave us the legal right of absolute authority. His power is, “Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come,” (Eph. 1:21).

Early in this century, Mrs. Jesse Penn-Lewis noted, “It is . . . clear in Bible history that the manifestation of the power of God in The Pentecost, and through the Apostles, meant again an aggressive attitude to the powers of Darkness. Therefore, the growth and maturity of the Church of Christ at the end of the dispensation will mean the same recognition, and the same attitude toward the Satanic hosts of the prince of the power of the air, with the same co-witness of the Holy spirit to the authority of the Name of Jesus, as in the early Church. In brief, that the Church of Christ will reach its high water mark, when . . . it knows how to ‘bind the strong man’ by prayer, ‘command’ the spirits of evil in the Name of Christ, and deliver men and women from their power.

Conquering Authority

Christians must be prepared and equipped for spiritual warfare. From the earliest times men wore and used devices for the protection of the body in battle.

The Apostle Paul spoke of the armor in a figurative sense, with reference to righteousness as a protection to the follower of God against the assaults of evil or temptation. They take upon themselves the whole armor of God, Helmet, Salvation; Breastplate, Righteousness; Girded Loins, Truth; Shod Feet; Shield, Faith, (Eph. 6:13-17), shows what wonderful provisions’ God has made for His warriors.

  • Christians must be on the defensive, (Matt. 26:41).
  • You must be anointed! (Matt. 3:16),
  • You must fast! (Matt. 4:2).
  • You must quote the Word! (Matt. 4:4, 7, 10).
  • You must command the devil in the Name of Jesus! (Matt. 4:10).
  • You are the one that has to drive the devil to flight, (Jam. 4:7).

Jesus said in (Matt. 12:23-33). Satan is not going to allow anyone to destroy his work without putting up very strong counteraction. His control must first be neutralized before Christians can release his captives.

Jesus asks this penetrating question, “How can anyone enter a strongman’s house and carry off his possession unless he first ties up the strongman?” Then Jesus told us that we could enter his house. (Matt. 12:29). The King James Bibles reads, “bind the strongman.” Indeed, binding the strong man is the first basic PRINCIPLE of spiritual warfare. In fact, before any warfare opposing powers and principalities and wicked rulers and evil spirits can be won to release the nation, cities, individual, family, the strongman must be defeated, (Matt. 18: 18. 19. 20).

Once Satan’s power is bound, Jesus enters freely enters into his house and carries off Satan’s possessions. The territory is delivered and Satan loses control. The Greek word for spoil occurs in two forms, Diapazo and harapzo, which means “an intensive spoiling, plunder and snatching away.”

Deceiving Evil Spirits attacking the Church of Jesus Christ

There is an alarming onslaught of deceiving spirits attacking the Church of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul reveals these special manifestations of evil spirits through prophecies that point to the deception of Christian believers in the latter times. These deceptions are showing up in the supernatural realms. Many are following teaching ministers that are sending forth an army of teaching spirits that are leading people away from their biblically based spiritual knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless, spiritual blindness and through lack of knowledge, many are not able to carry out a full war against this army of wicked spirits. Many are shrinking from the subject of demons and call the war against them not credible. They believe that if Jesus Christ is preached, it is not necessary to give attention to the existence of the devil. They think that they can ignore him. (Jam. 4:7-8), “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Many Christians have never been taught the power of Jesus Christ. They believe that they never enter into direct conflict with Satan and his hosts. The church has actually been blinded by the powers of darkness and multitudes are being bound. Scriptural answers are not practiced in the lives of the people.

The clash between Satan and Jesus Son of God in the first Gospel is an ongoing one. Satan is characterized as “the strong man” and Jesus, the Son of God, in that He casts out demons by the Holy Spirit and brings people into the sphere of God’s reign, as one who “binds” him and “plunders his goods” (Matt. 12; 28-29 cf. also 8:39). Conversely, Satan and those who do his bidding are depicted as doing violence to the kingdom of heaven as “plundering” it (Matt. 11:12). A case in point, is Satan’s enlistment of Peter in an effort to put Jesus at cross-purposes with his Father and to turn him away from the path that leads to the cross, (Matt. 16:21-23).
